Underwater-Scooter Design-Stingray
Concept & Inspiration
I was captivated by the sheer elegance and explosive speed of the stingray. My design, the Stingray Underwater Scooter, is not just a piece of equipment; it is a bionic vessel that allows you to "become" a majestic creature darting through the depths. Whether you are exploring a coral reef or just being the coolest person in the pool, this scooter transforms underwater movement into a high-speed, cinematic experience.
Design Specifications: Where Biology Meets Engineering
- The Powerhouse: Equipped with dual primary engines as the core propulsion system, providing that exhilarating "kick" of speed.
- Stability Control: Two circular fan-style secondary thrusters are integrated into the tail. Much like a stingray’s subtle fin movements, these maintain operational balance and precision handling during high-speed maneuvers.
- Bionic Interface: I replaced the stingray’s eyes with high-intensity LED lights for underwater visibility. In the "mouth" position, a 4K wide-angle camera is installed to capture every moment of your aquatic flight.
- The "Brain" Box: A sleek, raised compartment on the back mimics the stingray’s cranial hump. This serves as the pressurized housing for the motherboard and power supply.
- Endless Endurance: To maximize runtime, I’ve integrated flexible solar photovoltaic panels across the main back and wings—turning every moment on the surface into a charging session.
Ideation & Research & Sketching
Started with the bionic concept and analyzed the fluid dynamics of stingray locomotion through online visual data.
Translated these inspirations into freehand design sketches to capture the initial "soul" of the machine.
Precision Drafting
Imported the refined sketches into AutoCAD to generate mathematically accurate plans and elevations.
3D Modeling & Visualization
Exported the DWG files to DXF and brought them into Fusion 360. I underwent multiple iterations to refine the ergonomics and applied high-performance materials (carbon fiber and solar-glass textures).
Utilized the Rendering Environment to set up studio lighting, capturing the scooter from multiple dynamic angles.
The Ultimate Illusion
Taking the renders into Photoshop, I threw this virtual beast into real-world photos of coral seas and blue swimming pools. Seeing it alongside divers, I knew this daydream had become a reality.
