Universe Inspired Necklace

I made a 2 layer necklace. I made it in reference to a research paper I contributed to. Learning how most of our stars are binary except ours has inspired me to look up more often at our starry nights. I aimed to create something that resembled our universe with dark mysterious deep colors but also emanate elegance and an array of beautiful colors.

First Layer

I created the first layer as a simple necklace. I went with a straightforward pattern but enough to still catch an eye. With the iridescent moonstone matte glass beads being the primary center of attention. These beads create mesmerizing colors that we see in space regardless of whether there is direct sunlight.

Second Layer

Just how space has an immense amount of depth, I wanted to illustrate that by adding a layer to create more depthness in my necklace. I intertwined another cord through a few beads until I reached the desired length and added the second layer. However, here I mixed gold stars and glass beads to "reflect" the light real stars provide. In between the stars I added dark blue glass beads to resemble the dark voids in space. Lastly, I added the clasps to keep in place and from not falling apart.
