Wavy Vine Bracelet
This is a beautiful bead pattern that is perfect for a bracelet for any occasion. It is a very versatile beading pattern that can be applied to other projects, such as earrings, necklaces, or rings. Also, There is a lot of freedom in the type of bead you use as long as they are different sizes. I hope you enjoy this project!
Supplies
thin beading string (you can also use dental floss if you don’t have string)
Smaller seed beads (size doesn’t matter as long as they fit on your needle and string)
larger seed beads
beading needle that fits your beads
scissors
2 crimping beads
lobster clasp
jump ring
pliers
Thread Your Needle
Cut a piece of beading string or dental floss that is a little more than 2 arm lengths long, then thread your needle.
Choosing Beads
Choose 2 different colors of small seed beads. My first color is green and my second color is blue. Then, choose a color of larger seed beads. I am using a darker blue. Next, thread 6 of your first color seed beads onto the string.
Thread 1 of your second color seed beads, then 1 of your larger seed beads, then another of your second color. Move all of the beads down until it’s about 8 inches away from the bottom. The first color should be on the bottom and the second and third color should be on the top.
Starting the Pattern
Insert needle into the 6 beads in the first color. Pull it tight until it looks like a c shape around the other 3 beads. Shift it back down to 8 inches from the bottom.
Do It Again
Repeat the process. Add 6 of the first color, one of the second, one larger bead, and another of the second color.
Then, push beads all the way to the bottom. This time, go through the last bead of the last C shape part you did, and then the six beads in the 1st color of your new C shape. Pull tight. Your first color beads should be in an S shape.
Do the Same Thing
Once again, repeat the same thing. 6 of the first color, 1 of the second, 1 larger seed bead and one more of the second color.
Thread the needle through the last bead of the first color on the last C shape you did, then the 6 more of the first color. Pull it tight. It should be starting to take shape.
Repeating the Process
Now, you are going to repeat the process again and again until it fits all the way around your wrist, usually 6 to 8 inches depending on your wrist size.
(Side note: if you are making earrings, stop here and attach your earring loop now (after 3 C shape stitches), then weave in your ends and tie it off.)
Attach the Clasp
Gather your 2 crimping beads, lobster clasp, jump ring, and pliers. Thread a crimping bead on your string, then your lobster clasp.
Then, go back through your crimping bead and pull tight. Take your pliers and squeeze your crimping bead until it flattens.
Next, grab the edge of the crimping bead and bend it in half. Squeeze it shut to make sure it is secure.
put the needle through 5 or 6 beads, then tie a knot. Repeat this a few times to secure the bracelet. When you are ready, cut the string.
Finishing the Bracelet
Thread the needle on the other end of the bracelet, and add the crimping bead and jump ring that is securely closed . Put the needle back through the crimping bead, pull tight, then flatten the crimping bead, just like the last step.
Go through 5 or 6 beads, then tie a knot. Again, repeat this a few times, then cut your string.
You’re all done!!!! Enjoy your beautiful bracelet as an accessory for yourself or for a friend!
