Wearable Paper Tiara - With Templates

I originally created this tiara as a gift.

I had actually built one years ago, but since I lost the only photos of it, I figured there was no better time than now to recreate it! the key to a great tiara is mastering the balance between symmetry and keeping the design from feeling too crowded.

I then came up with this design... which I love. Its delicate, detailed, & pretty, The color scheme is a elegant, red, black, & white.

Although its made of paper, its certainly wearable.

For the ease of construction, I made a Free template, so YOU can make one for yourself!

First take your base hairband, & carefully wrap it with a long strip from your white paper.

Next, cut out the Base pattern included in the templates. (cutting this out takes a while, and must be done with a precision knife.)

Flowers!

This is very easy, but one of the most important parts!

Using your white paper cut a strip of paper about an inch wide, & about 11in long (or 27cm :)

crumple the start, & then wind it up, adding TINY dots of glue every once and a while.

Turn the paper around often to give it a wavy, "Rumpled" appearance.

Make 1 large one, 4 medium ones, and 4 small ones (Make the 4 small ones from your colored paper of choice)

Then glue the base part, to the band, and add the 1 big flower, and 2 of the medium ones on either side.

Leaves, and Roses

Cut out leaves from black paper, and the stack it atop the bigger white laves.

Make the biggest leaf sit atop the big rose, above the heart shape on the back piece.

Glue a trio of leaves together, and make a pair., Glue these to the sides of the two medium flowers

Heart & Flourish

I cut out a heart, with a hollow part in it, I glued it to the big leaf.

Next cut out the two "Side frills" and glue it to the back, be sure to align them.

Forehead Lace

This is my personal favorite piece that ties the whole thing together. It helps to stop the Tiara from sliding to the front as well.

Cut out the lace, and glue it to the back of the hairband.

Then cut out a sort of wide,rounded-M-shape... and glue it to the back. This will prevent hair from getting tangled, and pulled ~ Ouch!

"Horns" & Details

I cut out two long, thin spears of paper and glued them in a "V" shape on top of the head-piece.

With That..

Its done!

I gave it to my sister, she loved it! The small details certainly take TIME and practice to get it right, but the longer you take, the more delicate, and splendid the finished Tiara will turn out to be.

Using the black, and white, with ONE other color leads to a natural color-cohesion, which is needed for a royal Tiara made for a true princess.

Thank you!!!! & I genuinely hope you try it :)))
