Weaving DRAGONFLY Earrings With PIP Beads

If you've been waiting to start beading, this is your chance.

No intricate techniques, a few minutes of work -- some beads, simple weaving, and a pair of earrings you'll actually wear.

1. A: 10/o seed beads (Czech, Preciosa), 17365
2. B: 3mm round beads (Czech, Preciosa), 01710
3. C: PIP beads (Czech, Preciosa), 53420
4. D: TWIN beads (Czech, Preciosa), 01710
5. E: 15/o seed beads (Japanese, Miyuki), 409FR

1. Pick up 1B, 3A beads. Slide your beads to the middle of the thread. Pass through 1B, as shown in the picture. For further steps, use both ends of the thread.

2. For each end, pick up 2C beads. Pick up 1D, pass through it with each end, both holes, as shown in the picture.

3. Pick up 1E bead with each end. Pick up 1D, pass through it with each end, both holes, as shown in the picture.

4. Pick up 2A (any end), pass through 1D, as shown in the picture.

5. Use the other end of the thread, pass through 1A bead (the latter added in the previous step). Pick up 2E beads, pass through 1A bead (the former added in the previous step) and 1D, as shown in the picture.

6. Go up as shown in the picture (pass through 1D, 1E, 1D twice, 2C with each end).

7. Use any end of the thread. Pick up 5E beads, pass through 2C beads on the other side (criss-cross), as shown in the picture.

8. Use the other end of the thread, pick up 2E beads, pass through 1E bead, as shown in the picture. Pick up 2E beads, pass through 2C beads on the other side (criss-cross).

9. Flip the piece, repeat steps 7 and 8 for the other side.

10. Use any end of the thread, pass through 1B, 2A beads, as shown in the picture. Pick up 4E beads, pass through 2A, 1B beads.

11. Fix both ends of the thread, make a pair, add hoops or any finding of your choice (these can also be bag/phone charms, for example).
